This Essay Breaks the Law


Michael Crichton explains how ludicrous patents are becoming. It begins to make one wonder if you will have to pay royalties now to a company for discovering your particular affliction, simply because you infringed on their patent by coming down with their sickness. I knew there was a lot of stupid shit going on with patents in the last few years, but I didn't realize the extent to which it has come. It's a bit scary.
